1. General.
The Jet Powered Aircraft Industry comprises perhaps one of the most innovative, enterprising, imaginative, technically sophisticated and commercially aware Industries in the world today. Since the Wright Brothers first flew until this present time, the technical development and accomplishments over the intervening years have been quite astonishing by any standards. And so, it will be inconceivable to many conventional practitioners in aeronautics and indeed to the world at large that the Industry could have become technologically bankrupt in an area where it really counts. This statement will undoubtedly appear to be insupportable, but it is the purpose of this enterprise to prove that it is true.
