2. The Case

In the "Introduction" it is claimed that the  inventor's new concept would dramatically improve many aspects of the operational economics of all Jet Powered Aircraft so equipped.  The ideas underpinning the new concept are at odds with the conventionally held understanding of the dynamics of Jet Powered Flight.

The Jet Powered Aircraft Industry of today has been founded upon the quite technologically brilliant utilisation of Sir Isaac Newton's 3rd Law of Motion which states, "TO EVERY ACTION THERE IS ALWAYS OPPOSED AN EQUAL REACTION".

It was the technological utilisation of this Law in the form of the Jet Engine which made the creation of the World's Jet Powered Aircraft Industry possible.

The conventionally held understanding in Aeronautics is that the Jet Engine as utilised in Jet Powered  Flight provides the ACTION force required, and in motion REACTION, the Aircraft is caused to fly, thereby complying in this application with the utilisation in principle of the 3rd Law of Motion.  According to the inventor this is a gross over simplification and misconception of what in the reality actually occurs.

The principal factor both determining and thereby limiting the operational economics and hence the viability of many civil and military jet powered Aircraft, is no longer the aerodynamic efficiency of the their airframes nor the thermal and mechanical efficiency of their jet engines, but the particular manner in which Newton's, "3rd Law of Motion" is in fact utilised by all jet powered Aircraft of today.

In terms of fundamental Motion Physics, this particular application of Newton's 3rd Law of Motion using a conventionally configured Jet Engine as the primary source of an Aircraft's Thrust Power and, an Aircraft that is this way caused fly, results in a very inefficient MOTION VEHICLE.

Note: The Gross Thrust term in the sense used throughout this paper is that delivered to the Aircraft's engine mounting bolts and is regarded as the product of the Air Mass Flow in pounds per second times  it's Final Propelling Nozzle Velocity at, all demand conditions.
